The only thing Elie Saab needed to add to his wondrous portfolio of ingenious ideas is the African theme. And that he did! But of course, he reinvented the codes and values of his eponymous label and injected them with this tribal touch, sending out models in big gold chokers and thick arm cuffs – all of which were just the icing on this glamorous cake.

At first, the collection included flowy dresses with broderie Anglaise and poplin blouses – pieces that were topped off with thick waist-cinching belts. There were traditional African dresses molded onto the designer’s exquisite touch and there were high-slit dresses that revealed Elie Saab’s knack to redefine femininity. The colors were as bright as ever and there were even some pieces that featured a mix and print like no other. The eveningwear section was of course aplenty with embroidered fit forming gowns and high-end fabrics combined with glam and glitz.
