Women using La Mer have been benefiting from ingredients in the sea to look and feel youthful. Now it's time to give that love back to the ocean, through a special project called La Mer's Blue Heart. This project is a commitment to support the protection of the ocean's habitats for today and for future generations. Did you know that 95% of the ocean is still unexplored? This mysterious wonder of our planet is like a blue heart that maintains the Earth's and our own integrity.
La Mer has been supporting ocean conservation efforts for the past decade. Through a partnership with National Geographic, La Mer will support two new explorers Dr David Gruber and Shannon Switzer along with resident explorer Dr. Sylvia Earle, known for her perseverance in highlighting the importance of "healthy ocean habitats" and bringing it to the forefront in national and worldwide discussions. Blue Heart's main mission is to raise awareness for the need to protect and explore the ocean.
To celebrate World Oceans Day this June, La Mer came out with a limited-edition designed jar with the inscription 'Blue Heart'. Although the purchase of Crème de la Mer does not impact the Blue Heart charitable donation, La Mer has already donated over $2.6 million since 2008 to help promote ocean conservation efforts globally.
World Oceans day was created in 1992 and made official by the UN in 2009. The official date was June 8th. Whether you take your family to the beach and enjoy its beauty or buy yourself a jar of Crème de La Mer's Blue Heart Edition this month, celebrate the glory of the ocean and maybe even raise awareness in your community to see how you can make a difference for this vital cause that is sometimes overlooked. As Middle Easterners, most of us enjoy going to the beach so let's make sure our next generation get to revel in it just as much as us.
